The Scudieri family acquires Obicà Mozzarella Bar from UK private equity firm Neo Investment Partners.

The acquisition of Obicà is part of the path started by the Scudieri family with the creation in 2014 of the brand Eccellenze Campane, which shares with Obicà a strong focus on high-quality products and the same goal: to spread the culture of good Italian food around the world, in which elements such as typicality, culture and tradition are combined with the concepts of sustainability, accessibility and affordability.

The Obicà ownership is back to Italy, thanks to the Scudieri family who invests in a solid and successful brand, known internationally, to consolidate its presence in Italy and abroad and encourage further expansion.

The Eccellenze Campane store in Naples, in via Brin, keeps the name of the brand and will represent the reference hub for a part of the production and distribution of Campanian products both to the Obicà restaurants and to the other Eccellenze Campane stores, which will receive the Obicà sign.

The Obicà cuisine, always based on high-quality ingredients and a careful selection of raw materials, thus expands its supplier base selecting the best products from Campania directly in house, combining them with the other Italian excellences that have always characterized its gastronomic offer and have ensured its success over the years not only in Italy, but also in important international cities such as London, New York and Tokyo.

Thanks to the partnership with Obicà, the internationalization of Eccellenze Campane will see quality Italian cuisine strengthen in Europe and worldwide. Achille Scudieri, Eccellenze Campane CEO, traces the direction of the new challenge: “With this step we enhance the growth of Eccellenze Campane. We started from Southern Italy, a food and wine forge with recognized typicality and traditions, with a well-established brand in our country. We will seize the many opportunities in Italy and abroad, continuing to represent our local excellences in the world, with renewed emphasis on our values of authenticity and quality guarantee. This operation is part of the investment strategy of the Scudieri family in the food and wine sector and in quality products, as happened recently with the acquisition of the Gaglio winery, that produces the famous Mamertino, and the Abraxas winery on the Pantelleria island for the production of passito, zibibbo and nero d'Avola, both wineries awarded in the industry with international awards".

Davide Di Lorenzo, Obicà Group CEO, speaks on behalf of the entire Obicà team in Italy and abroad to welcome the new owner: "It is a great pleasure for us to return to an Italian ownership. We found a partner who perfectly knows both our brand and the key elements of our food offer and with a strong interest in the internationalization of the Italian food culture. Just like Obicà, which has always been based on a balance between the Italian soul and the cosmopolitan spirit: an essential element of our identity that put us immediately in line with the Scudieri family to share the same goals for the future of the brand".
