February Special in NYC: Lardo

A delicious cold cut from Italy to enjoy in three special recipes.

Our February Special is the star of lots of traditional Italian recipes: the Lardo, a delicious cold cut made with pig meat cured with aromatic herbs and spices: its taste is intense and full of aromas, the color is white with shades of pink, the texture is soft.

The best way to consume it is cut into thin slices and used on hot dishes: thanks to the heat, the Lard softens taking on an enveloping consistency, extremely pleasant on the palate. That’s why here at Obicà we suggest you to enjoy it in three original recipes, perfect for the cold days of February.

Let’s find them out!

In our Bruschette, the Lardo meets a deliciously creamy Burrata, and also Baby Spinach, Artichokes and Sun-dried Tomatoes, with a final touch of Rosemary.

As a main course, we created a very special soup pairing healthy vegetables with the sweet and spicy flavor of Lardo: it’s our Zuppa di Lenticchie, a real explosion of taste that’s worth a try.

And what about our Pizza? Our original recipe for February features the Lardo with our Mozzarella di Bufala, Potatoes and Cherry Tomatoes Confit: the perfect dish to share at lunch or dinner with your friends.
