Discovery Turin: an itinerary through mysteries, art, and unmissable details

From Portone del Diavolo to the iconic green turet: an unusual route through the heart of Turin, perfect before or after a stop at Obicà.

Turin is a city that captivates you from the very first moment.

Elegant and austere, melancholic yet magical, it reveals new sides of itself every day thanks to the coexistence of its past as the capital of a Kingdom and a vibrant underground culture that propels it into the future.

That’s why we created Discovery Torino: a short itinerary to enjoy before or after a visit to Obicà Torino, designed to uncover fascinating and often lesser-known corners of the city — also featured in our new reel.

First stop: Portone del Diavolo (Devil’s Door)

According to legend, it was sealed by a dark force one night in the 18th century; in reality, it is the entrance to Palazzo Trucchi di Levaldigi, built in 1673 — one of the jewels of Turin Baroque, where history and mystery intertwine.

Second stop: the Pierced Building

A 1996 artwork by Corrado Levi with the Archizoom collective: a giant steel and neon piercing cuts through a 19th-century building — provocative and irresistible, just like Turin’s contemporary spirit.

Third stop: the green "Turet”

The Turet are the small green drinking fountains found all over the city — more than 800 of them! — first installed in 1862 to provide fresh water to citizens after the Unification of Italy. Their name comes from the Piedmontese word turetta, meaning “small tower”: an everyday detail that tells the story of the city’s most authentic soul.

Fourth stop: Galleria Subalpina

Built between 1873 and 1874 after the fire at Teatro d’Angennes, it is one of Turin’s three historic arcades. In Liberty style, with iron, glass and soft lighting, it is a place suspended in time — perfect for those who love to lose themselves in beauty and history.

And after being captivated by Turin’s charm, there’s no better way to end the journey than stopping by Obicà on the ground floor of Rinascente Torino Via Lagrange: a cuisine that celebrates Italian quality and a unique atmosphere in the heart of the city.
